. Ah… Sugar Bowl what could be sweeter? Not much. This is one incredible place. Apparently when Walt Disney picked this place for the first chair lift in California he knew what he was doing. From the moment you step into the gondola and cruise slowly to the remote lodge you feel almost transformed as if in some sort of time capsule due to the fact that this particular gondola was the very first of its kind in these parts. Once on the "other side" you realize that time did not leave Sugar Bowl out. They have spent millions of dollars adding new lifts, expanding terrain and purchasing new equipment such as "The Scorpion" which is a state of the art grooming device for the construction and maintenance of the new snowboard park.

. The contrast in this resort is like no other. It is as classic as it is progressive, as rugged as it is romantic. It's the kind of resort you want to bring your love interest to and hide for a day or two. The perfect place for romantic dinners after a day of flying down some of the steepest and most challenging chutes in the Sierra.
